      Software Engineer I Interview

      4 June 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Toast Inc (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2026

      Interview

The interview process is 4-5 hours where it begins with an initial phone introduction call from the recruiter. The first technical round was a simple leetcode problem that's meant to check if you know how to atleast think and code. I was going to do my final interview panel, but an offer was given to someone else earlier in the interview process before I could do my final interviews. Overall, the people were nice and the questions were fair.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Toast Inc (Bengaluru) in Mar 2026

      Interview

Overall, the interview experience was good, with questions ranging from a moderate to slightly challenging level. There were a total of four rounds, and the difficulty progressively increased with each stage. The initial rounds focused on fundamental concepts and gradually moved toward more in-depth problem-solving and advanced topics in later rounds. This progression allowed for a structured evaluation of both core understanding and the ability to handle complex scenarios.
