I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Toast Inc (Boston, MA) in Oct 2019
Interview
After applying online, I was able to speak to a recruiter. By the time we hung up, I had a meeting scheduled with the hiring manager. By the time we then hung up, I had a request to come into the Toast office for a 5 person panel interview.
This interview was pushed 1 day with a week's notice (no problem) and then closer had 2 interviewers drop out, and a new one added. Once onsite, the panel was on time, and tended more towards questions regarding my experience in project management and leadership rather than specific examples.
I had a video interview scheduled the following day, which the Toast employee didn't show for. I was then informed that that interview was cancelled & due to a miscommunication at Toast, I wasn't told.
The following week I was informed that I would not get an offer, and a week later I was able to sync with the recruiter as to why. She didn't have specific examples, but it appears it wasn't a fit based on how quickly I answered their questions. It feels like that even through the hiring manager was part of the process, that I needed to go 4/4 during the panel to move forward.
I am continuing to apply for roles within Toast, as it feels like a great place to work with a positive culture.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for your continued interest in Toast! I sincerely apologize for your disjointed interview process. Our office has been undergoing renovations, which has made interview scheduling a bit challenging. I hope that my team can work with you to find a role that will be a good fit based on your interests and background.
