I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Toronto Hydro in June 2022
Interview
Straight forward process. I had a short phone interview with HR, and was sent an online assessment a few days later. A few weeks later, I was invited to an interview (video) where I was asked relatively common behavioral questions.
It was a standard screening phone interview with the HR department, asking the standard questions about myself and my experiences. I got ghosted, and have not heard back after the screening interview.
Excel technical test that tests the basic excel functions & formulas, all multiple-choice questions very easy and straightforward, takes me about 20 minutes to complete the whole thing without any difficulty
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Toronto Hydro (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2024
Interview
Unprofessional on Toronto Hydro's end and you can expect being ghosted throughout the entire process despite putting in effort to them.
3 rounds, the first is a basic phone screening that asks simple questions (e.g. Salary expectations, have you used Tableau, etc). The second was a 30 minute interview that involves you preparing a slideshow presentation for two engineers on how electricity is distributed in Ontario. The final round involved the heads of the new graduate program and was all behavioural questions.
Overall, a large waste of time and wouldn't recommend going with a company that wastes your time and energy as large as this one.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How is electricity generated, transmitted, and distributed in Ontario?
What is your experience with using Tableau?
How can you contribute as an Operations Analyst?
