In the initial email inviting me to interview, I was asked for a preferred salary range. I responded asking what their budgeted range is and didn't get a response. That should have been a sign, but I decided to be optimistic.
A zoom interview was the first round. The interviewer was late to the call, and the questions they asked were very basic or redundant. I've worked in edtech companies for 8 years, and they asked how comfortable I feel learning new technology.
Got to the end of the interview, and they dropped the bomb - the salary range was way lower than what was reported on Glassdoor. 60-70K for a CSM with 8K potential for a bonus, Less than I'm currently making.
Oh well. A really easily solution to save companies time and money is to share salary ranges on the job description. A warning to anyone interviewing anywhere: if they won't share the range, it's not going to be impressive.
