The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Toyota North America
Interview
Flown up to Erlanger KY for interview following initial phone interview. Manager did not have a copy of my resume so I provided one and was also late to interview. Typical nonsense behavorial questions. The recruiter who participated in the interview, told me he would contact me within two weeks to follow up. Did not hear back for almost two months. I sent a follow up email with no response. Left a voicemail - no response. Finally got hold of recruiter who informed me that I did very well in the interview, however another candidate was chosen. The recruiter clearly had no intention of contacting me. Advice to Toyota - if a candidate uses vacation and travels across the country to interview, at least have the common courtesy to follow up with the candidate regardless of outcome. The recruiting is outsourced and doing Toyota a disservice - very unprofessional. Reimbursement for out of pocket expenses was very slow and I had to follow up several times. I expected much better from a company like Toyota, and have no desire to apply for any future opportunities.

Application
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Toyota North America (Plano, TX) in June 2017
Interview
Internal HR recruiter phone screens to gather information about the candidate and also determine fit. Then there were additional phone screens with the hiring manager and also other managers, average 30 minutes for each person. After passing the phone screens, then there was one round of face-to-face interviews.

Toyota has a pretty thorough interviewing process. You apply for a position, after about a month a recruiter will contact you for a phone interview. Then you will come into the office 2-3 additional times for face to face interviews with the hiring manager, director, controller, etc. The issue with Toyota is that they will string you along in the interviewing process then all of a sudden ghost you when you're out of the running. A simple automated email telling applicants that they are out of the running would seem like a more appropriate thing to do. Why have applicants go through 3 interviews only to completely ignore them after they've invested valuable time? Don't bother contacting the email that they leave under other people's comments about where you are in the interviewing process. They'll just forward it back to the recruiter. Is it still a great company? Absolutely. But they still need to improve on their interviewing process.
