The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Transamerica (Cedar Rapids, IA) in July 2011
Interview
Phone interview with HR followed by a skills/personality test. 2 group panel interviews followed by a job shadowing for 1/2 day. Questions asked were a mixture of personalty/behavioral questions and about related experience for the job. Once job was offered, background check is conducted. Many nice people, but very corporate - work environment is a giant cube farm.
Interview with recruiter, interview with department head and then a three panel interview. Very friendly. Some behavioral questions. Quick turn around time for those interviews, but lengthy delay before getting rejection.
Process started with a telephone interview with Human Resources, then proceeded to the hiring department. After several rounds of interviews the person to whom I'd be reporting and other interested people, an offer was made and I accepted.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Transamerica
Interview
Quick and swift. Very nice HR. I liked all the people I spoke with and they genuinely want you to succeed. They have a corporate guideline structure to their questions, but the team does a good job of trying to get to know you outside of that and understand where your skills can fit in with the broader organization.
