      UX Designer Interview

      30 Jan 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Trello

      Interview

Lengthy interview process via remote. The whole thing took a month. Spoke with a design lead, 2 designers, and 1 product manager. With the designers and PM I was given exercises to do during the interview sessions. It's not unusual to see these types of on-the-spot test these days, but frustrating since as a designer I don't work on the spot during my day-to-day tasks. The bizarre thing was when I was speaking to the PM and that person had me go through an exercise where I pretended to be the PM to solve a problem for an imaginary company unrelated to Trello. I found it odd and frustrating since I'm interviewing to be a designer not a PM. If this is how they roll, happy to have not gotten the position.
