I applied online. I interviewed at Trident Booksellers and Cafe
Interview
Pretty industry-standard, regular interview. In-person. Conducted in private corner of the cafe. Interviewer was rather passive-aggressive and condescending, just asked some questions, took notes as I talked. I didn't feel like she wanted to be there or wanted to hire me, and was surprised that they let her be the face of the operation when she didn't seem to like her job or be much welcoming. I'm sure they have lots of applicants though.

Question 1
Are you planning on being out of town at all in the next six months>
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Trident Booksellers and Cafe (Boston, MA) in Aug 2023
Interview
Very negative experience with the hiring process. I sent my application to the store manager, who was quick to respond and schedule an interview with me. The interview went well, or at least I thought -- I have plenty of experience in retail and publishing in general. He told me he would get back to me within a week, but unfortunately he fully ghosted me. I even sent him a follow-up email to check in on the status of things and he just never responded. Sad as I loved going to this bookstore.
