I applied and was contacted almost immediately for an interview. They requested I show up anytime after 11am, and I asked for a more specific time. Eventually I had to assert that I would be there at 11:30am. I arrived about 5 minutes early and then waited for almost 45 minutes to meet with someone. A person I assume was a manager was visibly annoyed with my presence and said she didn’t even know they were interviewing for the job I was there for.
Eventually I was acknowledged by who I believe was the General Manager. She sat me down with I think an owner of the hotel? He had clearly never reviewed my resume prior to my arrival and didn’t know why we were speaking. Within a couple minutes I was told that my experience doesn’t match what they are looking for and I asked them to explain. Turns out the job they posted that I applied for was not actually what they were hiring for. I applied for Catering Sales and what they really were looking for was Group Room Sales. ENTIRELY DIFFERENT.
The whole interview and vibe of the hotel was unprofessional and disorganized. It should have been a red flag that in casual business interview attire I was dressed more formally than every other manager in sight. The way my entire experience was handled was so poor. I ended up walking out and telling them to not keep my resume on file for any future opportunities.
