I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at US Army Corps of Engineers (Jacksonville, FL) in July 2010
Interview
Initially, I was interviewed and hired by another USACE branch. I had an arranged date and time for my interview and asked numerous questions about my skills, work ethic, etc. The interviewers were nice, calming and compassionate because it took place at the height of the 2009 recession. I had been with a firm for 12 years, planning to not leave, but retire with them. It was a very emotional interview for me and the USACE interviewers fully understood.
