      Operations Interview

      12 July 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Pleasant Prairie, WI
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uline (Pleasant Prairie, WI) in June 2012

      Interview

Let me just start by saying I've never taken the time to post about an experience before, that's how bad this was. They are extremely quick to call you to schedule an interview after you apply. There was no phone interview and there is pre-testing as described. After reading what others said about their doubt the company is really hiring, I was nervous but I decided to be optimistic going into the process, which turned out to be a huge mistake. The actual on-site interview was a joke. The "recruiter" was unprofessional and rushed me through his pre-set form questions, checking them off in an obnoxiously exaggerated manner. From the moment we entered the room it felt as if he was like, "Let's just get this interview over with". He didn't seem to care what I had to say other than my rankings on a one through ten scale for Microsoft Office expertise. To be honest I immediately left the "interview" dumb-founded and very disappointed. I had a bizzare gut feeling that he didn't like how prepared I was for the interview or that I was thoughtful in my responses and questions. I take job interviews seriously, peoples' time and resources are involved so I believe it's in everyone's best interest to do your best. Maybe I'm crazy? I have never had such a poor interview experience and I seriously question a company that employs HR staff like the person I "talked to". It's really too bad because I admire the owners' success quite a bit and I prefer a structured working environment and corporate dress code. Just be warned, interviewing at the corporate office for non-service rep and warehouse jobs seriously seems to be a complete waste of time. They'll tell you they aren't filling a vacant position, just looking to expand so they are going to take their time until they find the absolute "perfect candidate". I was a complete fit for the role I interviewed for and the company culture. My experience, skill-sets and level of expertise were clearly stated on my resume. If they only want a certain level of expertise, then why did they even ask to interview me? I am truly offended and upset that they seem to knowingly waste people's time. And, they seriously need to review their recruiters' professionalism and interviewing skill- level.

      Interview

Interview is very involved. Testing is intensive from Personality testing to quantitative. Initially you receive a series of tests over the email, then there is a serious of test at Uline. Only after taking those, you will go in for a 1:1 interview with the recruiter.
