      Flight Attendant Interview

      14 Mar 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Houston, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in Mar 2015

      Interview

I recently applied online the beginning of the month. I received an email a few days later informing me they were reviewing my application. A few days later i received another email inviting me for a group session for the one on one interview. They fly you out the day before the interview. So if you don't know anyone you will pay for a hotel that night. United does not provide hotel stay. When getting to the airport for your flight most likely there will be other applicants on your flight. If you do come across one introduce yourself. Remember their on the same boat as you. On the flight be on your best behavior because you never know. You can talk to the flight attendants for their insight. They would be very excited for you when they know you are going to the interview. Every one's experience is different and process can change but overall it will be the recruiters knowing about your background in customer service and why you really want to be a flight attendant. They will stress the fact its just not a job its a lifestyle. So if you are unsure take the time to answer those questions to yourself. The job is not for everyone. The morning of the interview you get to the hotel and get there early. People will already be there. You mingle and get to meet great and interesting people with different background. Its very diverse!. They begin by having you in a room for a quick intro of the company and position. As that is happening you will be going to meet a line of flight attendants where you hand in your resume. They confirm your flight back. You get name tag and back to the room for Questions & answer. As that is happening recruiters come in and call names for the one on one. Again everyone experience will be different and Their process can change on a daily basis. Just be yourself and act like you really want the job in a humble manner. Some was whisked to another room while others were returning to the shuttle bus. Again it doesn't mean they didn't get the job. The others that was in the other room had a second interview. Some were given an offer on the spot. The others were inform of an email that will be sent out. For the ones who did get the offer on the spot it is exciting but you have to keep in mind other applicants could be around in the hotel and airport. So they advise not to tell anyone. Beside you do meet great people and they will be upset with the outcome so to avoid anything best to keep it to your self. There was one applicant upset that she stormed back into the room apparently and demanded why she would be getting an email instead of an offer on the spot. You can imagine the outcome in that. In the end its about respecting your fellow applicants. I will say it again everyone will have a different experience. It depends how you as a person want to look at it. For me personally it was an amazing experience from the moment i left my city, arrived at the airport, stood overnight, next day interview, met great people, learn more about the company and the position that will basically change your life. The result was just the icing on the cake. The experience made the nerves, the doubts, the uncertain, the excitement and the journey worth it. The result was just the gift to openly accept the whole process.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

Interview questions was mostly about your experience in customer service. Hint why everyone will experience the process differently. What helped me I told myself these are questions about what i actually experience in my past jobs. You have the answer already. The key is how you present it. They will ask how you feel about relocating. They will ask scenario questions like if you are in a flight and your the lead and your fellow coworkers don't want to help you, How will you handle it. They want to know how you will react to uncomfortable situations. Remember you body language does speak. So remain positive and have fun with it. I was nervous and after the first question I told myself "Thats it I'm going to give it everything i got regardless the outcome" and i had fun with it. When interviewing LOOK THE PART! BUSINESS ATTIRE!!!! doesn't have to be navy blue. but it doesn't hurt! I saw applicant there that didn't look the part. There was one guy without a tie. examples like that. Its an interview and you want to look your best. Ladies makeup! not too much but just natural is always good! Appearance is important not only in the outside but inside as well. Bring your awesome personalities and you will rock this experiences

      Interview

the face to face live video interview with a HR personnel. I collected all possible questions from reddit to glassdoor and formulate my answers and thought they're going to ask the same questions but they didn't. The HR kind of tell that I have a ready made answers so she stirred the interview differently so my answer will be organic. Thankfully I passed this 30 minute interview. The interviewer did not look interested because she is multi-tasking but best believe she is listening to your answers.

      Interview

I’m heading to the F2F interview in TX. Every step so far has not been difficult for me. I also have no prior knowledge in being a FA. The hardest part so far is probably just the nerves and anxiety. Just prep well, do some research, have some basic questions and answer prepared so that even if they ask a different question you can possibly use one of the scenarios of another question and tailor it to the new one.

      Interview

I conducted my online assessment with questions about company policy, seating charts and customer requests with what is allowed and what isn't. I took my time with every question and reviewed it twice before submitted and now I'am invited to the virtual interview.
