I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at United Airlines
Interview
Third party recruiter was very professional and prompt. However interview with United Airlines IT team was really strange. It was virtual interview. 1. None of the three interviewers bothered to introduce themselves. I had to politely request them to introduce. 2. None of them were courteous, it almost felt like they made an effort to come across smug. 3. Hiring manager did not bother telling anything about team or job responsibilities. And it was turned over to developers to ask questions. 4. Technical questions were way to difficult and too specific. I have been doing PeopleSoft for over 20 years and had difficulties remembering technical details that they wanted to hear. 5. Finally, I was asked to ask question to team. I asked them what you like about your job.... answer was, we get free air tickets... very honest answer. When I used to interview candidates for technical roles, I made an effort to find candidate's thought process, logical capabilities, candidates achievements and how they achieved them and concept about the specific technology rather than minutiae. Well, that's just me. Half way through I knew that this is not going anywhere. May be it's a case of sour grapes but I think that job was not for me.

Question 1
Most of the questions were about some obscure settings buried in technical tools. For example, in designer tool when you define a table, there is a specific check box on settings tab, what does it do?
I applied online. I interviewed at United Airlines (Chicago, IL)
Interview
phone screening with recruiter, couple next days got interview with 2 manager mostly asked about your technical experience. Next week goes with coding session. phone screening with recruiter, couple next days got interview with 2 manager mostly asked about your technical experience. Next week goes with coding session.
Very technical with open-ended questions. There is more than one ways to solve the problem, not sure I answered correctly. Interview did not seem interested in the interview at all.

Question 1
What resources do you go when you need assistance?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (Chicago, IL) in May 2024
Interview
Process was great up until the tech interview. The opportunity was explained as hands on development backend role but interviewer just asked questions about high level infrastructure in AWS and theory that would not be used in practice. Mostly gotcha questions. Interviewer was looking for reasons to not hire instead of reasons to hire. Clearly did not read my resume and was a waste of all of our time.
