I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2015
Interview
The interview was a long but informative Process. We had a smaller group of 9 ladies. They had us check in, and watched a video about the company and job description. Then two flight attendants spoke more about the job, and then opened up the conversation and asked if we had questions. From there they took us into a large room that was divided off and had one flight attendant interview us. Good process, but it was a little hard to think when you could hear the others talking. From there, if you make it to the next round, you wait in another room to meet with a panel of a few people, that ask a few additional questions, and make sure you have no questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The first round, they immediately ask you to read off a card something about customs.
Then there were:
Tell me about a situation where you handled an angry customer? How was the outcome?
What would you do if a fellow employee refused to do beverage service?
How would co-workers describe you?
What is one misconception someone could have about you?
Tell me about a time where you went above & beyond.
Are you willing to relocate?
a few more but I can't remember.
Then I was asked to come up with 3 things/words about me that would make me a good fit for the job.
I was then told I was moving to the next round and if I had any questions.
Then I met with two others and asked why I want to be an FA?
How do you feel about relocating?
How would you experience translate into being a good FA?
What makes a good FA?
Then I was given a little more information and asked if I had any questions.
It started with the Assessment, followed by 8 video questions, and then the video interview. The in person final interview I am waiting for. They said I would know in 2-5 business days.
