      Flight Attendant Interview

      28 Sept 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Houston, TX
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in Sept 2023

      Interview

First of all wish everyone of you food luck. When appliying first of all you have to do VJT, which is very easy. Just be careful when you watching of listening, because they're going to be questions regarding to that listenings. If you pass VJT they will send you On Demand Interview(2 retake and 2min to answer the questions). These 1. Why at this point in time, is United Airlines a good career choice for you? 2. If offered the opportunity to attend the six week training program, what will you do to prepare so you are not distracted? 3. During the second week of training, you'll be assigned to a "home base" for up to six months. If this is not where you currently live, how will you manage this? 4. United Airlines priorities were listed--safety, caring, dependable, and efficient. Which of these resonates with you the most and explain how? 5. The last question was an easy YES OR NO QUESTION...I think it was about tattoos. were the questions for On demand. If you pass it you will receive 1:1 interview (30min) with United Recruiter . These 1. Name a time you had to impress a group of people 2. Name a time you had to work with a difficult coworker 3. Name a time you had to work or collaborate with a stranger 4. Why do you want to be a FA for United? 5. Tell me an example of a time you had to communicate something tech or complex to someone? were questions and their going to be very similar questions. If you pass this one as well they will invite you to f2f to Houston TX. Remember, if you live outside of Houston they only pay your flight ticket (they send your voucher 4 day before your interview day) and United office is in the downtown area. And other thing to remember Houston is a town for oil and a lot of people travel over there for businesses ,accordingly hotel prices during week day is really high. The closest hotel that literally right across United office is Club Quarters Downtown Houston(it's a little bit old, run down hotel and the room that I personally stayed was really tiny, I didn't like it so much but for 1night stay durable and costs more than $250) . Other thing is transportation to the United or Hotel which is almost the same area is usually costs above $50 to one way. And on your interview day come 45min earlier to get to know other candidates on lobby. After United representatives will come and again check your passport (be sure that your passport has at least 18months, it's very important). After checking ,they will escort you to the 12th floor (and if you have your luggage with yours don't worry, when you will arrive to the 12th floor they will show you special office where you can leave all your belongings). On 12th floor they will divide you into the bases like LAX,ORD,DEN and etc. And will take all of you to the room and you will sit with your designated group. After they will come and introduce themselves and talk about their carrier life in United. After their going be "Good Leads The Way"story, first their flight attendant will tell her story after each bases or group will have 1 United flight attendant to sit in your table and listen one by one your Good leads the way story(must be your professional life related story) After they will take 2 groups and give you tasks to prioritize the situations according to the urgency (just remember safety first, customer service 2nd)and they always watching you. After that one uniform and food cart room and their glorious stories). Personally I think most of FA's weren't even friendly, no personalities. And they will return you to the main room and you just waiting. And comedy starts from here. They starting call 2 or 3 manes in a time and taking them. If you not called in the beginnings , just forget about it. If you left to the ends they will take you to the room for 1:1 interview, do reach test, check tattoos and on computer make you carefully listen PA announcement and after fill in the gap what you listened. and ask 1-2 questions, just for formality. And give you 1 pair of socks and take you to the elevator and Goodbye. It's great company to work for, there is no doubt about it. But people who assessing you not the best. They were in the company long time, most of them 25+ years and they looking at you from above. That I did't like too much. Good luck all of you and hope to see you all in the friendly skies Hopefully I can be helpful in your journey to get the job.
