The interview process was pretty quick, but very off-putting. The hiring manager kept implying or directly saying that she preferred to hire an internal candidate. I felt like I had no chance at receiving an offer and that I was just there to fill an arbitrary requirement of interviewing an external candidate. It also seemed that she was trying to sway me from wanting the job & kept warning me of random things that wouldn't really impact my desire for the job. I thought that would be the last interview, but they passed me on to the final interview anyways, which I thought went really well. But alas, my original hunch was right and I did not receive an offer. I had to reach out to the hiring manager for an update, just to get a generic "we're going with more qualified candidates" rejection email.
