The interview process with Universal was great! You park in the Team Member parking lot and go into the Human Resources building to check in and go through security. Then while you're waiting to be called, you fill out a questionnaire about your availability, capabilities (i.e., are you comfortable working in or around water?), and what positions you'd be willing to work in other than the one you applied for. The seats are very comfortable, everyone in the building is very friendly, and there's always a Universal movie playing in the lobby. When I was waiting to be interviewed Jurassic Park was playing, and it helped me take my mind off the interview and just enjoy myself a little. When it's time for your interview, you get called in by one of the team members and they take you back to their cubicle in the office. The interview questions are very basic, and they tell you right then and there if you got hired (at least for the position I was hired for). Then they double check your availability and you go back out to the lobby to wait for someone from the records department, who fills out paperwork with you and schedules your orientation dates. You could have 2 or 3 or 4 days depending on which section of the park and which position you end up in (I had 2 basic orientation days, plus an attractions orientation day, plus a Harry Potter orientation day [yes, they pay you to learn about Harry Potter for 8 hours!!], so I had 4 days total). After that you take a picture for your ID and get your fingerprints taken and you're good to go. The best thing for me was how welcome everyone made me feel during the process. Also, the person interviewing me was extremely flexible and very willing to answer any questions I had. I had initially applied to be a Cabana Attendant at Volcano Bay, but ended up changing my mind because he told me there was also sales/marketing involved. He was totally cool with it and gave me a spot in Attractions at Ollivander's in Diagon Alley. If you do end up in a Wizarding World position, they'll ask you some extra trivia about the movies. They let you rate your knowledge on Harry Potter on a scale from 1-5 and then ask you questions from there. You'll learn a lot more in Wizarding World orientation. As long as you go in with a good attitude and show how much you really want the job, you'll fit right in, and they'll work with you to find a position you're good at and that you'll love doing. Universal is truly a family and I love working there, and as of the time I'm writing this, I've only been a Team Member for a month. They instill in you from the moment you first walk in the door, that their Team Members come first and they strive to make you happy. Good luck on your interview!
