I applied for a postdoctoral position to a group in environmental engineering group. the interview was started by introducing myself talking about the research projects that I have conducted and the ideas I have to propose. talking about my publications as well as the experimental experience that I have and the instruments I am comfortable to work with.

After cv screening, there is an interview for personal presentation of the research (both past and future). Future potential is most important. One should be indepent enough to conduct research.

Screening took some time and the interview lasted an hour. Afterwards, they asked for the reference check. I got the offer within a week. I would say getting screened was the most crucial step.
