This was disappointing and surprising to read, Madison Orr. You drove in from a long distance so we combined what would normally have been 2 interviews into 1 in order to save you the time of a return trip. Multiple tasks in an interview, especially in a position as important as this is not unusual. Though we enjoyed meeting with you, ultimately the distance in driving would have been a concern of ours. Right after your interview we had a number of surprise deadlines for upcoming projects so we had to put hiring for this position on-hold and it was not feasible to then reach out individually to everyone who had applied to keep them updated. Nobody was ghosting you or exploiting you simply because you didn't get the kind of response that you wanted according to your timeline. You are correct about dodging a bullet though - I'm glad we did.
