Like I said, I wasn't a big Apple user at the time, so I looked really bad on this question. Incoming hires are expected to have solid knowledge about Apple products. They don't have time to teach specialists all things Mac. You have resources in the store for difficult questions, but you HAVE to have a knowledge base to work from.
