      I interviewed at Wise

      Interview

You can't spell culture without cult. And "culture" in the tech world is usually used to cover up how employers are rinsing people for their labor in the time they're with the company. 'Cus if you buy into the cult, you're willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of your work. This is the bargain that Wise expects from you, and in the interview process. The Wise team seem so caught up with their so called mission that they can't actually see the wood for the trees. It speaks to a culture of arrogance within the company and how highly they think of themselves and the product, when the offering's actually pretty basic. The other senior level interview process reviews here are also right. The interview process at this level is too long + inefficient. How can you mention to candidates that they seem to have lost interest, when you drag the process out so unnecessarily? Some of the questions asked in the last rounds could come much earlier. Several of these interviews should have been rolled into one. I will say it was a decent conversation with the Wise team. To a point. But for anyone who is confident in their ability to work smart rather than hard? For people who actually appreciate having interests and priorities outside of the workplace? Then this place probably isn't for you. You'd be better off saving your time and effort for elsewhere. The most ironic thing is how can the company claims to be "making payments more transparent" when their cofounder got caught for tax evasion. The math just isn't mathing. I don't mind if my capitalist overlord is going to hide his money offshore or under his bunkbed. We all know that 1%ers do it. But don't be disingenuous about it.
