I was pre-screened over the phone by a supervisor. I had an opportunity to ask questions and I was invited to interview. The interview was held via Zoom with multiple interviewers. There were knowledge based questions about domestic violence and scenario based questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Women Aware (New Brunswick, NJ) in Mar 2020
Interview
Very easy going , I love it , basic questions, person interviewing me was very nice and made everything feel relax. Don’t be nervous of you are just think about it as a conversation about you and why you want the job
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Women Aware (Middlesex, NJ) in June 2016
Interview
I applied online and was called for an interview two days later. I was surprised at how fast I had an interview with them. Probably the fastest interview request I've ever received.
During the job interview, I was asked questions about a traumatic experience I had. I felt like a bucket of ice water was thrown over my head. I didn't understand why was this relevant or why did it had anything to do with my job skills or qualifications. It was retraumatizing and I felt I was being blamed for it by the interviewers.
I was very upset about and I reached out to the organization's Executive Director via email to let her know I thought it was unfair I was even asked that question. The executive director responded by saying she will follow up with staff but she never followed up with me after her response.
I walked away with a very unpleasant experience and I was only there for an interview. I cannot imagine what it must be like for their full-time staff or their clients.
