      Finance Manager Interview

      10 Nov 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wuffes (London, England) in Nov 2025

      Interview

1st video interview with in-house recruiter, followed by video interview hiring manager (incoming CFO from Tails). The interview made it very clear that the incoming CFO has a “work hard or leave” mentality. He openly described working his team extremely hard and expects the incoming finance manager to handle all financial reporting, operations, and controls single-handedly — while he focuses on “CFO-level” work. It came across as an unsustainable setup with no real support. The tone was dismissive and suggested a top-down culture where staff are expected to absorb huge workloads without acknowledgment or collaboration. It sounded like the same kind of toxic leadership environment that’s been mentioned in reviews of his previous company (Tails) — where people describe poor management style and burnout. If you’re considering joining, be aware this role looks like a grind: long hours, unrealistic expectations, and a leadership style that prioritizes control over collaboration. Approach with caution.
