I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Xerox (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2013
Interview
Once you submit your resume, they assess you with an online personality/behaviour survey to create some sort of profile on you. You're invited for an interview shortly thereafter before a panel of 2 sales managers. The questions are standard but couldn't help but get the impression that supervisors are inexperienced micro managers. There's a background check, reference request. To be honest, I didn't feel good about the place from the get-go. Corporate, plastic feel with plastic people trying to slug an uninspiring product was the only way I could describe it.
Phone call with a recruiter. Sounded like he was reading from a script and was unsure of themselves. Didnt ask any behavioral questions except why you want to work in sales. It is an outside field sales role for the sales executive position.
The interview process was not difficult. I had 3 and they all last about 30-45 mins. First with a recruiter and then 2 with the hiring manager. One video call interview and one in person interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The question were really get to know you type questions and not the typical “tell me about a time” questions.
The recruiter no-showed our scheduled interview. I waited in the M.S. Teams video waiting room for 20 minutes and he never showed up. Extremely unprofessional - I never received a cancellation or a response to my follow up emails. I looked up my recruiters linkedIn and it shows his location is in the Phillipines?
