I applied online. I interviewed at You.i TV (Ottawa, ON)
Interview
Had a phone call with HR, first of all HR was 10 minutes late which is pretty rude but I didn't let it bother me. The whole interview lasted around 20 minutes and to be honest I barely got a word in.
This isn't an exaggeration, HR kept telling me about the job and constantly talking over me. I was annoyed at the fact that I wasn't even able to finish a though before she started asking another question and then rambling on about it.
First, we are so disappointed that your experience with us with anything less than exceptional. Secondly, we actually only have one recruiter here and can confirm the interview started 4 mins late due to connectivity issues (which were communicated via email during those 4 mins and apologized for at the beginning of the call). We've come along way with Zoom and Google Meet but do run into challenges every now and then.
We may have over-rotated on the telling you about the company and job. That's usually what we jump into when the candidate doesn't seem to have done much research on us... our apologies if that wasn't the case. We always use the first call as more of a discovery meeting than a deep-dive to make sure that candidates are aware of what actual day-to-day will entail (especially when we're talking about a contract role for example). But, upon reflection of your experience we have decided to try out a few new questions as part of our discovery process. We take all reviews very seriously so thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Please do reach back out to us for more discussion.. we would be doing ourselves a disservice not being able to explore your full background and expertise in sufficient detail.
Reached out to HR via LinkedIn. After a week I received an interview on Google Hangouts with two developers. They asked primarily behavioral questions and the usual "Tell me about yourself"

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at You.i TV (Ottawa, ON) in Dec 2016
Interview
First I had a phone interview with a person from the Human Resource. The questions were about my resume, experience and some comportamental questions. The person was very friendly and the interview took around 30 minutes.
I was invited to a in sight interview with two technical persons. We talked more about my experience, I made a test and after we discussed my answers. It take about 2 hours.
