I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Zapier in Sept 2022
Interview
The interview process included an intro call with a recruiter, a behavioral interview with a manager, a homework assignment that asks you to build an app with a framework of choice, a technical interview with 2 members of the team giving feedback on your assignment, and a director interview. The process ends with background and reference checks, and a meeting with your future team.
Honestly, the entire process was very positive. The team members were great to talk to and represented the culture of the company well. However, my experience went downhill after I received a verbal offer. After 2 extra weeks of waiting and constant back and forth with the recruiter for updates, the role could not get approval. It's a shame because I really liked the company, but they did waste a ton of my time so it's difficult to say the experience was positive in the end.

Did not get past the engineering manager interview, but it was overall a great experience. I genuinely felt like the interview went well, but it's okay, there's always room for improvement!

Interview
The interview process was very positive overall. I had meetings with different members of the company, which in summary entailed a recruiter screen, an interview with a hiring manager, a timed 2:30 hs coding challenge, a technical interview to discuss my solution and a final interview with someone in leadership.
At every instance of the process their communication was transparent and effective, and they made sure to be flexible in availability to schedule all meetings.
I felt really comfortable throughout the entire process.
