I recently went through BP’s interview process and unfortunately had a very negative experience. I completed four interview rounds, received positive feedback in each stage, and was told verbally that I had passed all rounds and was moving to the offer stage.
However, at the offer stage, I was unexpectedly asked to provide my salary slips. I clearly explained that salary slips are personal and confidential, and this request came only after interviews were completed. Initially, I declined, but the hiring manager insisted and convinced me to share them, so I eventually did.
Despite this, a few days later BP informed me that they could not proceed because I had “initially refused to provide salary slips.” This felt unfair and unprofessional — especially after I eventually complied.
To add to the confusion, I later received an automated email stating that I had withdrawn my own application, which is completely false. I was never unresponsive, and I certainly never requested my application to be withdrawn.
Overall, the process lacked transparency and consistency. After investing significant time preparing for and attending multiple rounds, the final experience was disappointing. Clear communication and respect for candidate privacy should be taken more seriously.
