I had a very disappointing experience interviewing with Finanzguru for the Senior Data Engineer role. Despite being invited to a technical interview, where I successfully discussed complex technical and architectural concepts and completed the live coding challenge, I was rejected solely because I lack Databricks experience. This is something that was already clearly stated on my CV, meaning the company could (and should) have filtered this out before wasting my time. Instead, I spent 1.5 hours in a technical session only to be dismissed for a reason that was obvious from the start. This shows a complete lack of respect for candidates’ time and preparation. It also demonstrates disorganization in the hiring process — either CVs aren’t being reviewed properly, or interviews are being conducted just to "collect" candidates rather than seriously evaluate them. If Databricks experience is a strict requirement, it should be treated as a baseline screening criterion, not an afterthought after the candidate has already gone through a full technical interview. The process was careless, unprofessional, and left a very negative impression of Finanzguru as a company.
