We are seeking an experienced Steel Detail Designer to join our growing team.

About the Role

This position is primarily responsible for preparing accurate CAD models, fabrication drawings and manufacturing documentation to support the production of light gauge steel framing components.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D CAD models, shop drawings and fabrication drawings for light gauge steel framing systems.
• Review architectural, structural and engineering drawings to determine project requirements.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation, including dimensions, tolerances, material schedules and component lists.
• Revise drawings in accordance with customer requirements, engineering changes and project variations.
• Coordinate with the production team to ensure drawings meet fabrication requirements.
• Verify drawing accuracy before issuing drawings for production.
• Conduct site measurements where required to verify dimensions and update drawings.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and drawing records.

Skills & Experience

• Relevant qualification in Drafting, Design, Engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience preparing steel fabrication drawings.
• Proficiency in Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, Strucad or similar software.
• Good understanding of fabrication processes and construction drawings.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
