Description BigFix had a cure for network security woes. The company developed software used to manage and secure corporate IT networks. Its products enabled the automation of such functions as security software update management and software configuration for PCs, servers, and mobile devices. It served customers in the financial services, health care, hospitality, manufacturing, and retail industries, as well as education and government sectors. Clients included Kronos, PETCO, and the public school system of Miami-Dade County in Florida. BigFix was founded in 1997. In 2010 the company was purchased by IBM, which is using acquisitions to build its line of security software products.
