Description Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) is committed to providing electricity for about 27 million customers throughout Mexico (excluding Mexico City). The state-owned company has about 180 power plants of various types, including thermal, nuclear, hydroelectric, and alternative energy facilities, for a total of more than 50,000 MW of installed capacity. It also purchases power from independent producers and supplies wholesale power to Mexico City's distributor, Luz y Fuerza del Centro. Electricity is delivered to consumers through more than 672,000 km. of high- and low-voltage transmission and distribution lines. CFE also offers consulting and technical support for a variety of electrical projects.
