Exelon Generation Snapshot
You've heard of Generation X, well Exelon Generation Company is a member of Generation P, as in power. The company, a subsidiary of Exelon Corporation, is one of the largest electric wholesale and retail power generation companies in the US. In 2010 Exelon Generation had a generation capacity of 25,620 MW (primarily nuclear, but also fossil-fired and hydroelectric and renewable power). Exelon Corporation also controls another 6,140 MW through long-term contracts. Exelon Power oversees a fleet of more than 100 fossil- and renewable-fueled plants in Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
