Halcrow provides international management, planning, and design services for infrastructure development worldwide. It focuses on the transportation, water and power, maritime, and property sectors in more than 70 countries from its network of about 70 offices. One of Halcrow's most notable UK projects is the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, for which it helped provide design and project management. One of the UK's top engineering and consulting firms, Halcrow is also a leading international engineering and surveying firm. Originally founded in 1868 by Thomas Melk, the group was developed by notable engineer William Halcrow. In 2011 CH2M HILL acquired Halcrow for £124 million ($192 million.)
