InSite Vision provides insight into the murky realm of eye disease. The company develops ophthalmic products using its DuraSite eyedrop-based drug delivery system. Its topical anti-infective product, AzaSite, is marketed in the US by licensing partner Inspire Pharmaceuticals as a treatment for conjunctivitis (pink eye). Various other AzaSite products are in development to treat eyelid inflammation and other infections. InSite Vision has licensed rights to use azithromycin (the active ingredient in AzaSite) from Pfizer. Inspire markets AzaSite in the US and Canada, while international units are supplied by Catalent Pharma Solutions.
