As we continue to highlight our team members during (AAPI) Heritage Month, we are excited to shine a light on Lauren Tu. Lauren has been a key member of our Product Design team. Here's what Lauren had to say about how her culture drives the person she is today and how Lauren brings that culture to the January in order create a more inclusive space for everyone on our team! "My grandparents all immigrated to the US from Taiwan in the 50’s, and brought with them lots of stories, recipes, and cultural values. It’s a gift to be able to bond over these with my family and others who share similar experiences and backgrounds! My parents taught us to have a strong work ethic and the importance of taking care of others. In the workplace, I use these values by striving to be a team player and making sure everyone’s voices are heard. My favorite part about working at January is the culture of positivity, growth, and hard work. I really appreciate the resources and support January provides us to be able to do our best work." It gives us joy to share team member spotlights with our team. We get a moment to learn about our teammates and the experiences that shaped them to the people we now cherish as co- workers. We celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month with another team member spotlight, Rishab Gupta! "As an Indian American immigrant, it's been a joy to grow up with two cultures. Even though I moved to the US when I was only 4, I've held my Indian heritage very closely. Growing up, I internalized their values and lessons from favorite stories from Indian mythology. My parents taught me about the importance of hard work and helping those who are less fortunate. As I've grown older, I've come to appreciate Indian history, film, music and meditation.
