NetBotz manufactures and distributes Internet-accessible devices used to monitor the security status and environmental condition of rooms containing sensitive information technology equipment. Its customers include some 1,500 educational, energy, financial, health care, government, and manufacturing organizations located worldwide. The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, highlighted the vulnerability of technology infrastructure for businesses and other organizations. NetBotz was established in 1999. The company has offices in the UK and the US. American Power Conversion (APC) acquired NetBotz for $31 million in cash.
