Description Polymer Group, Inc.'s (PGI) business is interwoven with nonwovens. Rivaling Ahlstrom and E.I. du Pont de Nemours, the company is a leading developer and maker of nonwoven textiles and other engineered materials used by consumer and industrial product manufacturers. Its absorbent and disposable fabrics go into baby wipes, diapers, and other hygiene and medical products. On the industrial side, they are incorporated into filtration, insulation, and automotive acoustics products. PGI operates more than a dozen manufacturing and converting facilities worldwide. In 2011 the company was acquired by Scorpio Acquisition, an affiliate of private equity group Blackstone Capital Partners.
