Pros

Although the company has had significant layoffs and downsizing, they've been around for a long time and probably will be here for many years. PGI will spend money on acquisitions and capital investment.

Cons

Not many opportunities for advancement. PGI tends to look outside to fill middle and upper mgmt positions. PGI does very little to develop existing employees.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Lot of flexibility and freedom to perform your job on a daily basis. Friendly people to work with for the most part. Should benefit from the combined experience of Fiber and PGI.

Cons

As Fiber, it was a very flat organization without much room for advancement & growth. Things may change with larger organization. There are not a lot of cross-functional work groups like larger companies to accomplish tasks. This is a very segmented organization and very territorial. There are lots of roadblocks to get things done even involving customer issues. Some professionas are being micromanaged by incompetent managers.
