Our RACQ Foundation team travelled to Gympie during #NationalVolunteerWeek to complete restoration and resilience projects for 18 community organisations impacted by natural disaster. One of these initiatives involved planting 3,000 trees at The Sands Park in collaboration with the Australian Resilience Corps, supported by the Gympie Regional Council and the Gympie & District Landcare Group. General Manager Advocacy Joshua Cooney said, “Restoring community hubs after a natural disaster is important for the livelihoods of locals, but building them back stronger, to ensure they can withstand future natural disasters, was our special mission." RACQ is making that dream a reality for its employees with a new EV Test Drive Day series launching this weekend. For the first time, RACQ employees and members will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of electric cars and get behind the wheel on the state-of-the-art 1.8km test track at the RACQ Mobility Centre. RACQ employees are starting the new year with a suite of new and enhanced entitlements designed to provide greater flexibility and support. From 1 January 2023, all part-time and full-time employees can now access new flexible leave options to celebrate cultural or religious days of significance, an increase in paid parental leave and compassionate leave, a dedicated wellbeing day after two years’ service, and leave to support gender transition. Chief Purpose Officer MJ Bellotti said these changes support the Club’s diversity and inclusion strategy. “RACQ is proud to have a diverse workforce, and these changes will go a long way in giving our people more choice and flexibility,” she said. “We want our people to feel confident to be themselves at work, and that includes celebrating the days that are culturally important to them. “We also acknowledge there will be occasions when our people might need to take additional time away from work for circumstances outside of their control, and we want to ensure they feel supported to do this.” Ms Bellotti said. ...Show more

RACQ committed to reconciliation RACQ has continued its commitment to strengthening relationships with First Nations people with the launch of the second phase of its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). The Innovate RAP builds on the Club’s Reflect RAP that was released in 2020. It provides RACQ with a blueprint to make further meaningful contributions to reconciliation in Queensland and drive the inclusion of First Nations people over the next two years. The launch at RACQ’s head office in Eight Miles Plains opened with an official smoking and didgeridoo ceremony and was attended by Councillor for the ward of McGregor Cr Steven Huang, General Manager of ARTIE Steven Page, Aunty Robyn Williams and Aunty Flo Watson, as well as more than 200 RACQ employees.
