When a friend reached out about a role at Workrise six years ago, Mandi Brandenburg saw an opportunity to reconnect with the people and work that had shaped much of her life. “Coming from a long line of oilfield workers in West Texas, it’s no surprise that my journey eventually led me to Workrise. Growing up, I saw firsthand how vital it is for energy workers to be paid fairly, compensated quickly, and kept safe. Those principles weren’t just ideals, they were what put food on our table, bought our school supplies, and gave my family a chance to build a better future. My time at Workrise has brought me full circle. It has reconnected me to my roots and fuels my commitment to lead our Client Operations team with empathy and a deep understanding of the people we serve. Vince Giang didn’t take the traditional path into product management, and that’s exactly what makes his perspective so valuable. From mechanical engineering to operations to product, his story is a great reminder that curiosity and collaboration can take you far. “Workrise helped kickstart my journey into product management. After graduating with a mechanical engineering degree, I found myself working on interesting technical projects, yet I felt disconnected from the user. This led me to operational roles at startups where I worked more closely with product teams, implementing capabilities where I witnessed the direct impact on users. When I joined Workrise, these experiences converged, enabling my transition to product management. At Workrise, I directly contribute to our mission to transform the oil and gas industry. One of my proudest achievements has been leading our product expansion into Canada. Identifying the unique complexities of each region was a challenging yet rewarding experience. What made this project work was the direct collaboration with our Canadian teammates and living our value Solutions Over Egos. We bounced ideas off each other, comparing “how we do things in the US” with “how it works up north.” That back and forth was invaluable, and we would’ve missed crucial details had I done it alone.
