Description If you're making some quick long-distance calls in Canada, you may be using the services of Rogers Telecom Holdings (formerly Call-Net Enterprises), which operates primarily through its Rogers Telecom (formerly Sprint Canada) subsidiary. Rogers Telecom also provides local phone service in 33 Canadian municipalities, as well as data transport services and Internet access. Rogers Telecom Holdings' facilities include its Internet protocol (IP) network and a fiber-optic network that reaches across Canada and into the US and the UK. In 2004 the company began offering VoIP phone service to consumers, and plans to sell DSL service. The company's name was changed after it was acquired by Rogers Communications in 2005.
