Description The philosopher Seneca may have searched for the truth in ancient Rome, but Seneca Resources searches for a more tangible commodity -- oil and gas -- in modern day America. The company explores for, develops, and produces natural gas and oil primarily in the Appalachian region (where it is focusing of developing its lucrative Marcellus Shale assets), as well as the Southwest and California. Seneca Resources is a subsidiary of multi-faceted energy company National Fuel Gas. In 2010 the company reported proved reserves of 428.4 billion cu. ft. of natural gas and 45.2 million barrels of oil.
