Disorganized and Poorly Managed, Proceed with Caution

Pros

1406 Consulting offers a fully remote work environment, which provides flexibility and autonomy. The team is welcoming and kind to work with.

Cons

What started off as a promising opportunity quickly turned into a frustrating experience due to a lack of structure and leadership. There’s no formal onboarding or training, which leaves you to figure everything out on your own. The employee manual looks like it was copied from another website and includes references to in office time and company equipment, neither of which apply in this fully remote setup. To make matters worse, employees are expected to use their own personal equipment since the company doesn't provide anything. There was also no concept of HR during my time here. The CEO’s leadership style is all over the place, either overbearing or completely absent, not to mention a mix of being pleased on some days and pissed off on others. You never know which side you're going to get. Promises of raises, bonuses, and career growth that were made during the hiring process never materialize into anything. Turnover is high, especially among female employees, as leadership’s engagement fades once the initial excitement wears off. The things that made this company initially enjoyable are no longer there. There's a ton of other agencies. Find another one.

Lacks structure, clarity, and long-term leadership vision

Pros

Remote work is fully supported, offering flexibility for those who are self-directed. The company attracts capable, highly-skilled individuals across departments. Some team members are excellent collaborators and bring strong HubSpot knowledge. This agency may appeal to freelancers or short-term contractors looking for remote B2B HubSpot experience, but it is not set up for long-term career development or stability.

Cons

Similar to many others in the ecosystem, this is a small agency that heavily relies on HubSpot implementations and onboarding. Unfortunately, internal operations lack the foundational structure needed for sustainable growth. Project scopes are unclear, priorities shift frequently, and there is minimal alignment across leadership. Time tracking, meetings, and administrative tasks take up a disproportionate amount of time. Compensation tends to fall in the lower range for comparable roles in the region. Benefits are technically offered, but are limited to the most basic plans. There is no formal onboarding process, no equipment provided, and very little is done to make new employees feel welcomed or supported from day one. Turnover is extremely high—most team members don’t stay long enough to see meaningful progress. There's a noticeable pattern in how leadership interacts with women, raising concerns about broader cultural and HR issues. Performance feedback cycles are irregular or nonexistent.

Pros

I learn from my talented co-workers.

Cons

Employees of 1406 Consulting suffer from the lack of support and direction from the current leadership. The poor leadership of this company doesn’t provide adequate guidance and a work environment to its employees that is conducive to growth and learning. Our leaders simply care about the money we rake in, treating us like machines.
