Pros

-Can move up quickly if you get along with management (not hard to do) -No drug testing •No experience required •If you set a schedule at the start, they will stick to it no matter what •First year gets a 5% raise; after that it’s 3% (sometimes less)

Cons

2nd Family Dogs and the sister location Ultimutts taught me this job is best suited for anyone looking for minimal structure, endless breaks, and maximum gossip. In my opinion, leadership feels more like a suggestion than a system, and “training” basically means figuring it out as you go. Nepotism seems to run the show more than merit or effort. If you want to gain real dog-handling experience, this isn’t it — but if you want to perfect the art of looking busy while doing as little as possible, you’ll thrive. Management oversees everything mostly from watching cameras rather than being hands-on with handlers or dogs. Callouts are endless and hours are scarce, but if you’re a student, you’ll have plenty of downtime since shift leads actually encourage taking breaks — which is basically a key part of the job. — all my own opinions

Pros

-Working with dogs -flexible scheduling (if tenured) -high volume daycare but not over crowded. -special treatment if cool with managers such as loans, and an absurd amount of overtime.

Cons

-Questionable ethics -non flexible scheduling for new hires -no advancement -no benefits -constantly making new rules that get enforced for a few weeks at a time then seem to disappear. -working with a few people who lack accountability and responsibility can often make the job difficult. -multiple people with sexual misconducts at work with no discipline to come of it other than changing schedules.
