Unexciting but stable

Pros

The office is spacious; on the 26th floor of 2 Bloor Street East. There's politics on the 6 Degrees project management side, but not so much on the Real Interactive side. Some of the less desirable characters at Real have left.

Cons

I don't like the Managing Director. I get that it's a tough job and she wants to sound cool and hip, but she's not. She's actually pretty embarrassing. Like a teenager's mom trying to be cool embarrassing. I wish she would grow up.

Pros

There are some nice people there, and the location is great. Not too many late nights...got to leave at 5 pm about 97% of the time.

Cons

They don't want pay you and make up all kinds of excuses not to. Oh, it was end of quarter and we kept the freelancer money so it would look good for MDC Partners. The embezzlement scandal resulted in the loss of 6 employees so now they hire freelancers as needed and jerk them around with pay. Unless you want to work for free or spend more time chasing them for money than working then go for it.

Pros

Half of this business (real) is amazing. It attracts smart and fun and interesting people. They have won some impressive awards and done really great creative work. The senior management on this side is excellent too...open minded, fun, professional and on top of where the industry is going. The leader on this side has a good industry reputation, speaks at a lot of conferences and brings good talent through the door.

Cons

The other side (6) of the business is the opposite. Closed minded, old school, doesn't support the growth of account staff and treats us like servants, doesn't understand what good work looks like and keeps old, way over paid staff on who stopped growing or caring 10 years ago. The two guys who run this side like to talk about their money, who they know and how hot their wives are, how one is a somellier, and how much they get to travel in the south of france. One is a creeper in a way that make most women in the agency really uncomfortable. it's a thing that gets talked about frequently and even though people laugh, it's pretty awful especially at staff parties. They are rude to the female management and that is obvious to us underlings. The other one yells at people and is a tyrant. He is impossible to work with and has made so many good people quit that its amazing that the holding company does not ask him to leave.
