Pros

* Interviewing staff seemed rational and competent * Dodged a bullet when the company showed its true colours

Cons

* You can, without warning, be perceived as antagonistic, even after successfully interviewing and an offer being tabled * You offer will be withdrawn and you will not be given the courtesy of a phone call, or even an explanation, simply for asking a question in clarification of a contractual clause, even after confirming intent to sign and closing all other recruitment avenues elsewhere * You will have to be the agent of recourse as they will not even reimburse you for expenses you incurred at their behest, until you make the request to do so, and don't expect anything but the bare minimum verbal or pecuniary response

Pros

There are some fantastically talented and approachable people working at 6point6. There is a clear disconnect between the people at the coal face and the leadership of the company. If you are working with the more juniors you will develop some great relationships and gain experience which will (mostly) be very useful for your career

Cons

The owners / c-suite of the company are only interested in profits and the next "event" to maximise their share holdings. They will deploy staff to toxic clients who abuse you daily, they don't care. As long as you are billing they are winning. You will be sold training and personal development opportunities, but these will only ever materialise if a customer demands specific expertise or badges to do the work. Otherwise you will be asked to learn in your own time. You are expected to work your hours for your customer, and then do everything else (like staff management, training etc.) in your own time. They treat you like a resource, not a person. When you are used up, you are discarded.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your views. Your advice to management is spot on. For us to grow, 6point6 has to be a great place to work for everyone and the Leadership Team is focussed on this goal. I can assure you we care deeply about the people who work here. We want to make brilliant ideas happen for our clients which means meaningful work for our people that really makes a difference. Being profitable means we can do that sustainably for years to come. I’m sorry we weren’t able to keep you on the team and wish you good luck with what you do next. Thank you. David Webb, CEO

Pros

Can't think of even one

Cons

Terrible culture, developers think they are the best developers in the world with a lot of arrogance. I have worked with developers for many years who are technically much better with zero arrogance and always willing to help unlike at 6point6. Projects are boring and the company thinks they are a lot bigger than they actually are. Bullying in the company is also very common and blame culture is also huge, no one takes responsibility and if you are there longer then someone else the blame will automatically be shifted to you. Zero training and learning opportunities, chucked in the deep end expeced to pick things up in a few days so they can bill you out and line there pockets not caring about you or the client.

Thanks for letting us know how you feel, I really wish you’d had a better experience. It’s never easy to read this kind of review but it does help us to know. We are working hard on making the development opportunities for our people even better and appointed Pash last year as Learning and Development Director so there’s loads of activity on that front. In terms of bullying, that is something I take extremely seriously and I will take full responsibility for looking into it. Please do email me if that’s something you want to take up. Thanks again and good luck with your next role! Janet - Chief of Staff
