Small Family Run - Badly

Pros

Most hotels are in small Colorado towns where a little goes a long way. Owners and company run from Pueblo, Co. Not ready after 30 years for a big city.

Cons

Horribly run small town company. Brother and sister given the company from parents who still run it like it's the 1970's. Only have 3 people running their corporate office that have no real life hotel experience. The company consists of about 10 hotels and might employ 50 full time associates total. Their corporate office is located within one of their hotels in Pueblo (Days Inns). Be careful when speaking with the male owner as he might say one thing but his word is not the final say. Any conversations you have with anyone of them be sure to get them in writing. They won't like it one bit but it's a must have, trust me. General managers have to clock in and clock out for their shifts. No back ground checks for any associates, no drug testing, zero benefits of any kind, low salary. Company has no employee handbook, no budgets, no monthly p&l reports, nothing a company in 2017 should have. Most hotels don't hire GMs, DOS, Sales Manager, Front Office Manager, these are positions the brother and sister fill. Even hotels that franchisees mandate positions they somehow get around filling. Bad company to work for although what hotel company isn't. This is one of the worst when it comes to ethical treatment of their people.
