CEO was greedy and only cared about how much you can bring in. This trickled down to managers who micro-managed the hell out of employees and pushed to fill some quota without any regards for someone’s wellbeing. For statement takers, they only cared how many you can take per night. They signed these contracts with clients where the company would take like 80% of the money. You’re paid the minimum wage, so you have to rely heavily on statements just so you can make a decent amount each time. Night shift was the worst. No time to take a “dinner” break, you are required to take a statement whenever there’s a call. You have to complete a written summary by the next day. If you’re slow and can’t finish in the office and have to take work home, add the extra hours you have to type it and divide by how much you get per statement, might as well be back to minimum wage again. Some managers felt entitled like they’re working at Google or some big tech company, walked around like they owned the place. It was hilarious. Some snitched on employees so they would look like “enforcers” to fill their egos. Most of them realized they’re stuck at a dead-end job so they have to belittle others just so they can feel better about themselves. It was a toxic environment.
