Pros

Great team for the most part, but it's a revolving door. Atmosphere can be fun, Travel is fun, but it is long hours and unglamorous work.

Cons

No growth, low pay, megalomaniac CEO who only cares about his image- LOTS of lies to hold that up- do not believe all the awards, he lies/cheats on all the applications/nominations to get them. Low integrity. A lot of work basics are missed- safety, strange clauses on salary terms to cheat you out of money the longer you stay (and are not upfront about it), averaging agreements- they stretch your hours over 2 weeks so they can get away with not paying overtime, low meal compensation that doesn't cover the day's costs, employees have to share hotel rooms in super sketchy hotels to keep costs down. They never hire from within, so you can't move within the company. CEO will leave for the weekend without signing people's pay checks so you have to wait for pay.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear that this was your experience, in the short time you were with the company. Travel is a large component of the waste management positions at AET. The opportunity to travel and see different parts of Canada is a great perk in this position, but we recognize that it is not for everyone.

Pros

A good starting point to gain working experience

Cons

- Low wages - Long hours with little compensation - Work becomes your life as you are away from home 5/6 days in a week -Toxic work environment/ culture -Budget restictions made all employees share hotel rooms for projects (no kitchenette, just a room with 2 queen size beds) -Management doesn't care about their employees just about profit -Little room for growth and expanding your skills. If you are in their waste sort team that is all you can expect to do. -A workers right is to refuse work if you find the task unsafe. They violated this right during my employeement even after sharing my concerns.

Thank you for your feedback. The health, safety and well-being of our team is top priority. We have an active Certified Joint Health and Safety Committee that meet regularly and who are trained in the work refusal process. We take pride in having open safety conversations with the team, and have no record of a previous work refusal. If you feel your right to refuse unsafe work was violated please contact us immediate so we can do a proper investigation.
