Pros

Fellow presenters are great, very friendly and helpful. Location is good. The kids are fantastic to teach.

Cons

On paper, the job itself looks great - in reality, a nightmare. Pay is consistently late. Every few months, an overhaul of the system will be announced in response to complaints from employees, but pay will quickly become late again, often at least a week late. Official HR response is always "an issue with funds being transferred from China". The company has consistently discriminated against current and potential employees on the basis of race and age. At one point, they promised to no longer work with schools in China who demand a racist hiring policy - this was a blatant lie, and they have continued to allow the schools to issue these hiring demands which violate anti-discrimination law. The company advertises itself as being an Equal Opportunity Employer - well, good luck keeping or even getting a presenting job if you're visibly nonwhite or over 40. Massive disorganisation within. Management, operations, and the presenters might as well exist on different planets. No effective communication between any of these parties, resulting in constant inconsistencies when it comes to scheduling presenting shifts. You'll submit leave weeks in advance, then receive panicked phone calls on the day of leave demanding you come in for a shift. The option for casual presenters to decline shifts was removed well over a year ago. It took 15 months for the company to install air conditioning in the building despite constant pleas from presenters from the moment we moved into the building. Studios are tiny and prone to overheating. Presenters suffered migraines, heatstroke, fainting, and nausea for over a year before the issue was finally resolved. Power-hungry individuals within the company have caused internal disputes at a management level. Not only has this negatively affected the careers of multiple employees, some of who were terminated, but these internal disputes have caused inconsistency in information being given to presenters. HR has no formal training, and has consistently acted unprofessionally toward other employees. Hard to go to HR with these complaints when they're the problem. If any of these complaints are raised, you'll receive a barrage of false promises. Nothing will ultimately change. This job will wreak havoc on your mental and physical health, and I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone.

Pros

Good location. Classes were so fun. Children were divine.

Cons

'Training Wage' is less than they pay at McDonalds. Once training is finished, they sack you and employ a bunch of new, unsuspecting recruits to underpay before they too, are sacked. Its a Chinese Sweat Shop for teachers. Its not ok in anyway.

Pros

Good people, teaching the kids is wild fun.

Cons

How do you like to get fired? No contract renewal? No work for you? Oh, you misread the advertisement? We’re not racist, it’s just the client wants a white presenter. The client wants a younger person. Pay will definitely be in tomorrow. Nope, next week… Nope the following day…. Oh sorry, please bare with us, but definitely tomorrow. We hope. (The CEO was paying the staff from their own private savings)
